In 2021 I wrote seven thousand words of notes about money and careers. The five rungs were already there, from the egg to the old rooster. Then the notes went into a drawer, and I kept climbing.
Five years later I opened the drawer. On the first of September, the book that came out of it went on sale. It is called Business Rooster, and it is the book I needed on every rung I stood on.
The question underneath
The book follows five rungs: intern, employee, manager, owner, investor. It does not treat them as job titles. It treats them as positions in one relationship, and it tests each of them with the same question. Who feeds whom?
At the bottom, you feed the ladder with your hours. At the top, the ladder feeds you. Everything in between is the slow, unglamorous work of moving that line.
At the bottom, you feed the ladder with your hours. At the top, the ladder feeds you.
What is inside
Twenty-seven short chapters, each ending with one concrete action you can take this week, not someday. Five status cards that tell you where you actually stand, which is rarely where your title says you stand. And a glossary of ninety-seven terms from the language of money, explained in plain words. Most people who think they are bad with money are not bad with money. Nobody ever told them what the words mean.
Who it is for
For the one who just got a first salary and does not know what to do with it. For the one deep inside a corporation, wondering whether this is all. For the one who owns a company and feeds it every month, instead of the other way around. And for the one who has reached the top and now has a different problem: keeping it.
I have been each of them.
First on my own rails
In August I wrote about owning the rails. Business Rooster is the first book that shipped on them from day one. My own ISBN, my own name as publisher, in print through Lulu into the bookstore network, and as an ebook in sixteen stores, from Kobo and Apple Books to Thalia in Germany and Casa del Libro in Spain, and on into libraries.
And on Amazon. The same Amazon that closed my account in August now sells the book, because this time it arrives on my rails, not theirs. No single door is the only door.
The Macedonian edition
The book is in English. But Macedonia is where I started, and the book is being prepared for Macedonia too. Not as a translation. I am writing the Macedonian version myself, as an adaptation, in my own voice, under the title Бизнис петел. Some lines land harder in my first language. More on it here when it is ready.
The drawer is empty now. The book is out. Everything about it, and where to find it, is on the Business Rooster page.

Written in September 2026
These Notes are not written to teach. They are written to preserve ideas that experience has taught me before time quietly edits them.
Some begin as observations. Some become conversations. Some eventually become chapters in future books.
Together, they form an evolving record of how I think about business, leadership, decision-making, and building meaningful companies.
Radovan Vitosevic is an entrepreneur, business leader, and author.
After more than two decades in banking, international corporate leadership, entrepreneurship, and board positions across multiple countries, he now focuses on building businesses with long-term value and writing about the principles that shape them.
His essays explore leadership, entrepreneurship, decision-making, company building, and a quieter definition of success.
These Notes reflect my personal experience and perspective after more than two decades in business.
They are not intended as universal truths, nor should they replace professional financial, legal, investment, or other professional advice where appropriate.
Unless otherwise stated, the views expressed here are my own and do not represent those of any past or present organization with which I have been associated.
Like any perspective, these ideas remain open to challenge, refinement, and change as I continue to learn.
Amazon closed the account that carried my books for six years. Three days later they were back, on rails of my own.
For most of my working life I believed a serious career was supposed to feel heavy. This is an essay about what changed, what I learned across eighteen years, and the kind of company I want to build now.
Eighteen years inside rooms I did not understand at first and then understood too well. The Two Suits is the book I started the morning after.
